Like to play hide-n-seek? The deer are shedding their antlers, treasures in the woods. Every year, the big bucks ( and the little guys too) shed their antlers -- think of them like fingernails. It doesn't hurt them, but they shed the tines for winter. Now is a good time to go look for them. Here is a nice article, scroll down about mid-way and it gives you tips for finding some. http://www.biggamehunt.net/sections/Off_Season/Shed_Hunting__In_Search_of_Lost_Bone_01100604.html.
Stay tuned. Tomorrow we visit with Randy Sander of the Hochatown office of the Oklahoma Ranger District for the Ouachita National Forest. We have the biggest back yard of forest to play in. Hiking is wonderful right now. Get your boots on, enjoy nature's forest at Beavers Bend. Stay at Cowboy Bend, located 1/10 mile from trail head http://pinemeadowcabins.com/cabin14_dennis_southerncomfort.html
